“Therefore I intend to always remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have. I think it right, as long as I am in this body, to stir you up by way of reminder,”
-2 Peter 1:12-13
Recently, I’ve really focused my attention on creating as the Lord leads me. I’m excited about this new direction and latest collection with you!
Here are three things, among many others to come, that God has put on my heart recently:
He is faithful.
Before I seek anything else, I need to seek Him.
There is power in the name of Jesus.
These things have given me new direction for the journey ahead. Here’s a preview of some new pieces and the inspiration behind them!
God is Faithful
My good friend Crystal constantly reminds me, and everyone else, of this!
The faithfulness of God is just dripping off of the pages of Scripture. It is both explicitly stated and implied through demonstration.
Here’s one verse about God’s faithfulness that stands out to me: “Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,” (Deuteronomy 7:9).
Seek First the Kingdom of God
This is one where the Lord had to check me. We often have to revisit this one.
I tend to wander and wonder. I stay trying to do too much. And I’m great at getting myself all worked up and out of sorts.
But God is working on me!
Right at the end of 2018, He reminded me of where I need to focus and just how much He cares with Matthew 6:33 - “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you.”
My husband recently introduced me to a group called We Will Worship. Their music has been the soundtrack for my worship time as of late.
The opening lines of their song “YHWH” have been stuck in my head for weeks: “There’s something about your name Jesus. There’s something about you and it frees us.”
It’s true! The Bible tells us in Philippians 2:9-11, “Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
By Way of Reminder
In 2 Peter 1:12, Peter says, “Therefore I intend always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have.”
While many of us know the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, it doesn’t hurt for us to be reminded sometimes.
It is my intention to always remind you, myself, and others of the Truth.
By way of reminder, we are stirred up to continue to practice what we believe and at any time, recall the things that we have learned.
